Happy New Year everyone. A Restore Knoxville newsletter will be coming out soon. Haven't done one in awhile.
Don't forget we have the homes for sale or rent section. If you want to see some other tabs or neighborhood areas, I can set them up with Google gadgets. Got a chance last night to preview the model unit at Brownlow Lofts. Interesting project. I obviously hope the project succeeds, since we live across the street.
More interesting, even, was being able to ask folks from the auction company a little about how the process works. A little more complicated than buying a book on eBay, but overall, it seems pretty straightforward.
I learned that th…

This is interesting. Dean Baker is co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, DC. He poses the question, "Is "own to rent" a way to keep subprime borrowers from losing their homes?"
I know that during the Great Depression, a great aunt and uncle in Bristol bought homes from friends who were losing them, then rented them back until they could sl…

My fiance Tim Glazner, aka "Swanky", has been working on a site for years trying to document some of Knoxville's history. There are vintage postcards and photos of places all around Knoxville and East TN, and then there are the "Now" photos... he's gone and scouted these places out to see what if anything remains.

Just found a great lighting site.
We are looking to replace sconce lighting in the living room, but we need sconces with key switches as we are still hard wired.
I have found a site - vintagelighting.com that has great selection, all re-wired and ready to go.
Has anyone ordered from this site ? Or maybe other suggestions?
